Surrounded by antiplano, beautiful perched on the edge of Lake Umayo, stands the Sillustani Funeral Towers. The tall standing towers are called “chullpas” which are pre-Colombian funeral towers.

I have come to realize – Out of all the landscapes I can be in – I love the desert the best! I especially love the desert surrounding Huacachina, Peru – It provides a little oasis in the desert and amazing opportunities for sandboarding and dune buggying.

Welcome to Ollantaytambo! Giant Ruins with 428 Steps! (I counted to keep myself from fainting in the heat!) What well placed ruins. Such beauty. I do truly love Peru. I think I might come back and live in this country at some point in my life.
