Balkan Photo Summary – 30 Days

Balkans Route

Going through the Balkans was incredible. Ok – I snuck some European Union in here to – adding Italy and Slovenia to start and ending with a bang in Greece. The region is vibrant – its history, its food, its views! It was a region I’d been dying to visit for a long time, and my 30-day jaunt didn’t do it justice. But fulfilled all 50 reasons I wanted to explore the Region and gave me 1000 reasons to return.

Conquering Kotor

Kotor is a triangle town built on Southern Europe’s deepest fjord. Two sides are the sea with the point as its harbour. The base is a mountain and at the top of a high cliff is nestled a fortified old city. Or – a castle with a flag as I like to see it! A great BIG fortified castle with walls cascading down the mountain to envelop and protect the city below. A mighty castle with 1500 stairs. And I conquered it. I conquered Kotor!

I just discussed my upcoming voyage into the Balkans. What I didn’t mention was I hadn’t worked out all the kinks yet.
