I watched as this game went around the travel bloggers world last year. I wanted to join but waited patiently. And finally, 1 year later, my patience has paid off as I was nominated by my friends Skott and Shawna at Get Up and Globe!

SO what is this 7 Super Shots? Well, 7 Super Shots is a chain post that is put on by HostelBookers, that circled the travel blogging world. Its a photo game where I pick my favourite photos that match the categories and hopefully convey the stories behind them to the categories! Afterwards, I nominate 5 other travel bloggers to take part in the 7 Super Shots! Because well – Its FUN!

So here we go. Here are MY 7 Super Shots!

1. Takes My Breath Away

This is both a literal and a figurative “Takes My Breath Away” photo. This is Cinque Terre in Italy and I hiked between the towns to make it to this spot to take this breathtaking photo. The hike almost left me crawling but it was so worth it to see this.

2. Makes Me Laugh/Smile

Hanoi, Vietnam is still one of my favourite places I have ever visited. We rented bikes for the day and cycled around the old town, across bridges, and in back lanes. Where ever looked interesting. We encountered many workers, but then we passed by this group of boys who were so excited to see us. They ran around us as we biked, waving, smiling, and screaming “Hi Hi HI” to us. It makes me smile to think of their enthusiasm.

3. Makes Me Dream

I loved Dubrovnik. I loved everything about the city. Its city walls, its endless churches, and its views out to the Adriatic. I dream to return to Dubrovnik and live here for awhile. It simply oozes charm.

4. Makes Me Think

I took a job in the Dominican Republic. It was my first time to the Caribbean and I wanted to enjoy what it offers in my breaks from work. Walking along the beach I met a man carrying Niko, this monkey. He was adorable and loved the bananas we shared with him. But he was attached to a long string, and seemed weary of strangers. This photo made me think of all the terrible things that tourists do to destinations. Tourists love to see Niko and play with him, me included, but seeing him look so sad, I realized that if it wasn’t for us, Niko wouldn’t be a show monkey, he would just be a monkey.

5. Makes My Mouth Water

I am a chocoholic. I admit it. And even more delicious is chocolate of fruit. While wandering around the St.Lawrence Market in Toronto, Canada earlier this year, I found these delicious treats just waited to be devoured. And devour them I did. YUM.

6. Tells A Story

Cambodia is an epicentre for temples, history, and culture. This photo of faces carved into the Bayon Temple tells me the story of the countries history; of its past, and that culture is the present. The meticulously carved statues and temples, have survived for so long, and been through wars upon wars, and still they stand proudly. This story is a regions history. That is the story it tells.

7. Most Proud Of (aka My National Geographic Shot)

This is my pride and joy. These are Moai Statues at sunset on Easter Island, Chile. The island holds such mystic and such wonder. How the statues were transported from one side to the other of the most isolated island in our world is still speculation. But whatever theory you believe, the statues are fascinating.
