My Moroccan Lifestyle

My Moroccan Lifestyle

When I received the word that I was wanted for the workaway in Morocco I was thrilled. I knew I would be working in a small boutique hotel. I’d checked out the website and knew I would be helping out in whatever way I could. What I didn’t realize was how LUXURIOUS my lifestyle would be. This is My Moroccan Lifestyle.

The hotel is situated 20 minutes outside Marrakech in a small village. The property is large and the landscaping is fantastic.

The place was designed by architect husband and was decorated by the designer wife. This place is a dream for them and a dream for me to have the chance to stay here (which I could not afford on my typical frugal backpacker budget!)

My job is the manage the garden staff. I spend a good portion of my days outside. When there are rows of white, red, and pink roses surrounding the 3 houses and olive trees scattered across the entire property, you can’t help but appreciate the beauty of this place.

As an animal lover I am proud to say I live with 3 peacocks. That is right – PEACOCKS! Like everybody, I know peacocks are majestic with their tail feathers of colourful eye-shaped patterns. What I have pleasantly learned here is that the peacock will lure me with his feathers between 9 and 10am. (He’s really trying to mate with the 2 peahens but I like to think its a special show for me!)

With temperatures reaching highs of 38, the pool is a wonderful respite, and after circling the property in a meditative stroll is a welcoming prospect.

The property also provides a stunning backdrop of the Atlas Mountains. On clear days these mountains are breath-taking and enhance my feelings that I’ve found a little piece of heaven.

Style, Design, Colour, and Beauty. This is My Moroccan Lifestyle.
