Where to Stay: Riad Verus in Fes, Morocco
Where to Stay: Riad Verus
Before I arrived in Fes I pre-booked my place at Riad Verus. I found it online at hostelworld.com and thought it looked nice. I’d always wanted to stay in a traditional Riad and upon arrival in Morocco it’s the first thing I booked. I had high expectations of colours and carvings, high cielings, and mint tea; Riad Verus has met every desires.
I booked myself into the dorm room. There are only 3 beds in the room with a private bathroom. Three massive windows open to the central court of the Riad with rainbow glass.
The pillows are fluffy with beautiful silks and beautiful beading. With 4 floors and a rooftop terrace the Riad is open, airy, and welcoming. All rooms look out to the open central area which is a communal space to share breakfast, read, use the computer, or relax and chat with the others in the Riad.
The Riad is in the Southern part of the Medina out of the hustle and bustle but within walking distance. You have the calm you need at night to enjoy your sleep and the proximately you need during the day to be enveloped by the Madness of the Medina.
With an incredible included breakfast of breads, sauces, eggs, tea and more. You’ll start your day off right and when you walk outside you can marvel at the Medina’s stalls and shops. The colours are beautiful here.
