My 23rd Birthday Travel Wish list

My 23rd Birthday Travel Wish list

Since it is my birthday today – the 25th of March, I have decided to write my birthday travel wish list. Like every good traveler, I am constantly thinking about the next destinations I want to visit, the next adventure I want to take, the next culture I want to experience, and the next site I want to marvel at.

With that said: Here are the 5 things I am adding to my Birthday Travel Wish list that hopefully one day I can do.

Egypt – Experiencing all the Ancient History

Egypt has always been on my mind. The country is so rich is ancient history I want to spend years there learning about the culture and temples. I want to spend weeks exploring the temples, and learning about the pharaohs who built them. I want to learn about the hieroglyphs, the tombs, the reason for building them, and the people who built them.

Turkey – Ballooning in Cappadoccia

Does this photo not just elicit such marvelous thoughts in your mind? Such a rugged terrain just begging to be viewed by colourful balloon. That is what I want to do! Not only have I always wanted to go up in a hot air balloon, but experiencing the pointy caves both inside and out seems like a perfect exploration. I want to experience this Region.

Bhutan – Hike to Taktsang Monastery

This country is so mysterious. With its stunning temples and its country rating itself by a happiness scale, there is no place in the world I would love to visit more than the entire country of Bhutan. With the prices so high currently – This is be on my birthday list year after year until I feel I can afford this trip of a lifetime.

Mali – The People, The Place, This Mosque!

Such a colourful society. And with a legendary city such as Timbuktu; that name alone conjures up some exciting Lion King adventures for me. I want to catch a boat on the Niger River and slowly make my way to this city. This Mosque at Djenne is something I’ve always wanted to see. It is simply so fascinating! Also, the history and beautiful homes of the Dogon people is something I want to experience. This country deserves time. I’ll make my way here someday.

Myanmar – Bagan Temples

Culture, History, Temples, Religion. All things I love. Bagan is home to the largest and densest concentration of Buddhist temples, pagodas, stupas, and ruins in the world, many dating back to the 11th and 12th centuries. I want to spend days wandering the temples. riding hot air balloons, cruising down the Ayeyarwady, all of my earlier birthday travel desires all wrapped up in one wonderful bunch!

These are my 5 travel birthday wishes. When will they come true? I’ll have to start planning!
