Eating Good in Ottawa, Canada

Eating Good in Ottawa, Canada

Eating is part of the fun of visiting a new place. Or in my case; a second home. I lived in Ottawa for 4 years during my University undergraduate degree. I fell in love the with city – and more so the great food options the city offers. How to eat in Ottawa:

You will notice a pattern- I have an obsession with smoked salmon. So it is in most of my meals. Enjoy (As I VERY much did!).

Breakfast: Eggspectations

Eggspectation is one of the top breakfast locations in Ottawa. It is reasonably priced ($10-$15) and is incredibly delicious. They offer a wide range of breakfasts and they all involve eggs. So I hope you like eggs!

Dinner: Kinki’s Sushi

Hours: Mon-Fri 11:30-21:45 | Sat 10:00-21:45 | Sun 09:00-21:45

Kinki’s is an pricey fusion asian restaurant for anybody on a budget – but it is also incredibly delicious. But for those budget friendly types – Between 3-6PM Mon-Fri and from 9PM-Close they have Happy Hour. Double the portions for a discounted price. AWESOME. You’ll still shell out $30 – but you’ll get two 18pc sushi rolls. (Better to split between two people for extra savings).

This little gem is a new find for me. While wandering the Byward Market I came across it and am as giddy as a child with their cupcake selection. Each day offers new flavours but they have everyday specials too. My favourite? Red Velvet. Melt in your mouth, happy day cupcakes.

Tea: The Tea Store

Hours: Sun-Wed 09:00-19:00 | Thurs-Sat 09:00-20:00

This place was introduced to me by a friend. I had walked by it about 8 times and never noticed it tucked between two separate markets. With a wall completely lined with tea selections and pots for $3 – you can’t go wrong with a little tea time. Pinkies up folks!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Ottawa and more so my food adventures. After living there for 4 years, I still had not seen or eaten everywhere. But I’ve found some tried and trusted places that stay on my mind even while I travel the world.

Have you tried any of these locations in Ottawa Canada? What did your taste buds tell you? Delicious?
