Eating is part of the fun of visiting a new place. Or in my case; a second home. I lived in Ottawa for 4 years during my University undergraduate degree. I fell in love the with city – and more so the great food options the city offers. How to eat in Ottawa:
You will notice a pattern- I have an obsession with smoked salmon. So it is in most of my meals. Enjoy (As I VERY much did!).
Breakfast: Eggspectations

It is reasonably priced ($10-$15) and is incredibly delicious. They offer a wide range of breakfasts and they all involve eggs. So I hope you like eggs!
Lunch: Memories

It makes me salivate just to think of it. Memories doesn’t only have delicious lunch foods it is also known as a dessert restaurant. It has an incredible selection of pies and cakes on display.

Dinner: Kinki’s Sushi
Kinki Asian Fusion Sushi Restaurant 41 York St, Ottawa, Ontario K1N 6Z5 Phone: (613) 789-7559 Hours: Mon-Fri 11:30-21:45 | Sat 10:00-21:45 | Sun 09:00-21:45 Website: http://www.kinki.ca/Kinki’s is an pricey fusion asian restaurant for anybody on a budget – but it is also incredibly delicious. But for those budget friendly types – Between 3-6PM Mon-Fri and from 9PM-Close they have Happy Hour. Double the portions for a discounted price. AWESOME. You’ll still shell out $30 – but you’ll get two 18pc sushi rolls. (Better to split between two people for extra savings).
Dessert: The Cupcake Lounge
The Cupcake Lounge 6 Byward Market Square, Ottawa, Ontario K1N 7A1 Phone: (613) 862-0926 Hours: Mon 10-18:00 | Tues-Wed 10-19:00 | Thurs-Sat 10-21:00 | Sun 10-18:00 Website: http://www.thecupcakelounge.com/This little gem is a new find for me. While wandering the Byward Market I came across it and am as giddy as a child with their cupcake selection. Each day offers new flavours but they have everyday specials too. My favourite? Red Velvet. Melt in your mouth, happy day cupcakes.
Tea: The Tea Store
The Tea Store 53 York Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1N 9B7 Phone: (613) 241-1291 Hours: Sun-Wed 09:00-19:00 | Thurs-Sat 09:00-20:00 Website: http://www.teastore.ca/This place was introduced to me by a friend. I had walked by it about 8 times and never noticed it tucked between two separate markets. With a wall completely lined with tea selections and pots for $3 – you can’t go wrong with a little tea time. Pinkies up folks!
I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Ottawa and more so my food adventures. After living there for 4 years, I still had not seen or eaten everywhere. But I’ve found some tried and trusted places that stay on my mind even while I travel the world.
